Program Partners

Overview

Retailers, contractors and heating, cooling & plumbing specialists are critical to the success of the Cash for Appliances Washington program. The state is relying on you to have ample inventory of qualified products available to meet consumer demand.

In addition, we are relying on retail sales associates to have a good understanding of the Cash for Appliances Washington program, and to help consumers find qualifying products, fill out rebate forms and inform them about additional retailer, manufacturer or utility incentives that may be available for the same product. It is to your advantage to promote Cash for Appliances Washington as a way of generating additional store traffic and sales for qualified appliances.

Contractors and trade allies have a unique opportunity to help consumers save money by advocating the combined incentives for Cash for Appliances Washington and utility rebates on qualified products. In many cases, these combined rebates will make an energy-efficient product as affordable as a less-efficient model.

The Cash for Appliances Washington program requires contractors installing Ductless Heat Pumps to be oriented by the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) on ductless heat pump technology. NEEA offers a free one-hour orientation webinar on the latest technology. Visit www.nwductless.com for more information and to register for the webinar.

In addition, it is to your advantage to promote Cash for Appliances as a way of generating additional store traffic and sales for qualified appliances. In order to make that as easy as possible, Cash for Appliances Washington has a suite of materials available for your use. If you wish to market the program in a manner that has not been provided in the available materials please contact Beth Gillette: bgillette@peci.org for approval.

Match Marketing

Please share your in-kind marketing efforts with us so we can report your participation to the DOE. In exchange you will receive a report that includes the estimated dollar value of your efforts and a report that outlines energy savings achieved through the Cash for Appliances Washington program.

Examples of these marketing efforts on behalf of the program include mentions of the program on websites or in print advertisements or point-of-purchase materials. Here is the spreadsheet you will use to report your marketing efforts. It clearly outlines potential marketing activities and what information we need to know about them.

In order to receive your utility’s quarterly energy savings report:

  • Please document your marketing activities in this spreadsheet. Reports need to be submitted by the end of each quarter during the program (June 2010, September 2010, December 2010, March 2011, etc.).
  • The spreadsheet should be emailed to: bgillette@peci.org; the subject should include your retailer name and the quarter for which you are reporting.
  • Even if you have not conducted any marketing on behalf of the program, please submit a spreadsheet that reports no activity.
  • If you have questions, please contact:
